Backed by Fireside Ventures, the Startup Plans to Grow Its Product Portfolio, Strengthen Distribution, and Support Mothers Beyond the Newborn Stage
The postpartum period for a new mother is rarely as simple as tending to a newborn. There are feeding problems to be had, a dearth of dependable products and, too often, not enough awareness on matters of maternal health. Yet in a baby care market that has put on considerable heft in recent years, the mother herself has frequently been left with few good options.
Promom, a Noida brand for mothers and babies, has set out to change that. The company has put together an institutional funding round of INR 30 crore (some $3.1 million), with Fireside Ventures at the helm. With this fresh capital in hand, Promom intends to scale its distribution throughout India, put down deeper roots in the maternal care space and add to its product line. It is a notable achievement for the young startup as it looks to put its direct-to-consumer origins behind it and make its mark as a full-fledged maternal care brand.
A Brand for the Realities of Motherhood
Anavi Kalia, Manas Tripathi and Aditya Srivastava started Promom in 2023 with the idea of tackling one of early motherhood’s most neglected issues: feeding support. Rather than put out the usual generic fare, the founders have concentrated on what works, developing solutions with a scientific basis to take some of the strain off breastfeeding and infant feeding. They do so in close consultation with lactation consultants, doctors and the mothers themselves to be sure their products are fit for purpose.
The result is a range of items that are as functional and safe as they are convenient.
Making Early Parenthood Less of a Chore
You will find the company’s portfolio is built around hygiene and feeding. A case in point is the Promom Neo Handsfree Wearable Electric Breast Pump, a quiet, leakproof option made for the working woman who needs a bit more flexibility. Then there is the 6-in-1 Promom Sterilizer which uses smart drying to let parents keep things hygienic without much fuss.
From milk collection cups and bottle warmers to flanges, valves and travel cases, the offerings are designed to cover all bases. In doing so, Promom is establishing itself as an all-in-one brand rather than a purveyor of standalone pieces.

Moving Beyond the Bootstraps
Until now, Promom has been a bootstrapped D2C operation, growing organically through word of mouth and referrals from customers. That has given the team time to hone their wares and prove there was a market for them. The INR 30 crore investment is a step up from those days, transforming the niche brand into a consumer healthcare business with the backing to expand. For Fireside Ventures, it is a way to tap into the opportunity in India’s specialised segment for pregnancy and postpartum products.
Expanding Maternal Care with Fresh Capital
The funds are earmarked for the next leg of Promom’s growth. Expect to see the brand extend its reach into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and roll out new products that go beyond the current sterilisation and feeding lines. There will also be a push on the marketing and education front to build trust with expecting and new parents and raise the profile of postpartum wellness.
It is a timely move. India’s maternal care market is on the upswing, driven by urban working mothers who want reliable convenience and a better understanding of safer feeding and postpartum health. Digital channels have only made it easier to put these niche products in front of consumers.
In short, the latest round of funding is a vote of confidence in putting the mother at the centre of innovation. As Promom extends its reach to more families, it is well placed to be part of a new wave of brands that make this important journey one of greater comfort and confidence.
